Why Northumberland is a Great Place to Get Outdoors

For the visitors to Northumberland and the North Pennines area, wonder and magic awaits. This is one of the northernmost counties in England, and home to some of the more spectacular scenery in the country.

To find a hotel in the area, a Northumberland Accommodation Guide is an excellent resource. However, visitors can also look at the tourist board websites as well. There is plenty of quality accommodation available in the area.

Many visitors will be looking to getting outside. Northumberland National Park includes the Otterburn Ranges, the Cheviot and Simonside Hills. All are excellent places for outdoors activities, including climbing, cycling and walking. Hadrian's Wall runs through the park, and there are other archaeological sites of interest. For those who enjoy open air, outdoors and clear starry nights, the park is heaven.

The Northumberland National Park isn't the only place to get away either. Along the sandy beaches of the coast there is also much to do. The marine life is quite exciting with sea lions frequenting the area. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne is a nature reserve and the area is great for bird watching. The beaches are a great place for a good walk, and you're never too far from a pub to get warm.

There is something magical about Northumberland. Maybe it's the people. Perhaps, it is the place. It is certainly full of wonder.
